To take a photogram you do not need a camera, It can be described as camera-less images. A Photogram fixes shadows onto light sensitive paper. It works by placing objects onto light sensitive paper and exposing light from above. The objects have to be 2 dimensional and opaque.
Man Ray
In his photograms he uses people mainly there faces. His photograms are all in black and white and quite a light compositon. The compositions of his photographs are really good my favorite is the close up of the face and tears. I think the image is very powerful because of the tears. man ray has very unique photograms and i think there the most different out of everyones. i really like the one with the gun because it has a very good composition and the gun is interesting and unique. of the photograms I've seen I've never den a gun as the main object and i think its quite interesting.

Floris Neusüss
His photos are black and white, shadow and light, movement and stillness, presence and absence, and in the translation of three dimensions into two.
Floris Neusüss uses things that looks like bodys or actual female body. His compositions are very good his images are quite centred and across using this whole space witch i think looks very good.
Lazlo moholy
what do u see in this photograph? in this photogram i can see some tape tangled and its not completely black around the tape so there could be something else there but i can't make out what exactly it is but it could be string or something. what words would you used t describe this photograph? i would describe it as black and white, interesting and good composition. to describe this photogram to someone that hasn't seen it before i would say the parts that are dark are very dark and the parts that are white and extremely bright white. also the tape is the main feature and it covers basically the whole page. is this a naturalistic or abstract image? this is an abstract image because naturalistic photograms are more of physical and traditional objects. Lazlo moholy has used tape for his photogram and i think it works really well and it has a good contrast with the black background.
my photograms 1st set
I like my photogram because i like the was the protractor looks over the lines from the other object. i would describe it as not to busy but enough to cover the page. My photogram has three main big objects (protractor, a spiral and a critmas tree) that are quite distinctive and also it has a coin. I think the christmas three came out really well and the edges look very sharp. i think for someone that hasn't seen the photogram before they'd find it quite difficult to identify the object with all the lines but i think thats a good thing because maybe it would make them think more about the image.
in this photogram there is 5 different objects i have used to compose the photogram. First i put the cd on the paper then a mirror then some string and tin foil and a lid. what words would you use to explain this photogram? quite boring, dull, average. its an abstract image because of the objects i used and it don't looked like anything naturalistic. i think the easiest object to recognise is the cd. i overlapped the objects to fit a lot of objects on my photogram.
my photograms 2nd set
in my photogram there are two main objects i used. i used scissors and earphones and i think that its better then my other ones because i think my other ones had too many objects and it was too busy. i think it was exposed for the right amount of time and most of it is focused exept a bit of the earphones witch is blurry but i think it looks good like that. the part of the earphones that are blurry blend into the background and i think that looks good with the contrast of the scissors and the clear parts of the earphones.
My experimentation
first time using photoshop i think my images turned out decent. i like the inverted one better because its more interesting (the one on the right). using photoshop was interesting first i didn't understand how to use it but now i am quite confident changing the colour of photos in photoshop.
